This page explains how AfricaMart uses cookies, local storage and similar technologies, and how you can control non-essential use. Last updated 18 July 2026.
Essential storage supports the basket, security and consent choices. Non-essential analytics and marketing technologies remain off until selected.
1. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files stored by a website. Local storage and session storage are browser technologies that can save information on a device for a similar purpose. This policy uses “cookies” as a convenient general term where the same privacy rules or choices apply.
2. Categories used by AfricaMart
Essential
Required for services requested by the customer, such as remembering the basket, maintaining secure sessions, preventing abuse and storing cookie preferences. Essential technologies cannot be switched off through the consent tool.
Analytics
Help measure how the website is used and where it can be improved. AfricaMart will request consent before enabling analytics technologies that are not strictly necessary.
Marketing
May measure advertising, create audiences or personalise advertising. These technologies remain blocked until marketing consent is given.

When Google, Meta or another provider is connected, the exact cookie names, purposes and durations must be added to this table before launch.
4. Manage your preferences
You can accept all, reject non-essential technologies or choose Analytics and Marketing separately. Withdrawing consent prevents future optional use. Some third-party cookies already stored may also need to be cleared through browser settings when a provider cannot remove them automatically.
The consent tool remembers a choice for up to 180 days, unless the policy or technology changes sooner.
5. Third-party services
Payment, fraud prevention and account-security providers may use technologies that are essential to provide their service securely. Analytics and advertising providers must be loaded only in line with the selected consent category.
Browser settings can block or delete storage, but doing so may remove the basket, sign the customer out or prevent parts of checkout from working.
6. Updates and contact
